The Atlantic Puffin is one of the most recognizable birds in the UK. With its bright orange feet and multicolored bill it stands out from the crowd. Its easy to see why it is known as the sea parrot or clown of the sea.
In spring and summer, thousands of puffins gather in colonies on the coasts and islands of the North Atlantic Ocean to breed. They usually pair up with the same partner as previous years, and some may have been together for 20 years.
They are a common sight in the Forth Estuary, where all of these photographs were taken.
